INFLUENCER INTERVIEW: Niki Mehra

Q1: In which all influencer marketing campaigns have you participated on Blogmint?
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Other
Q2: What is your primary category?
  • Fashion
  • Travel
Q3: For the people who don’t know about you, Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
A3:I am a 23 year old fashion and travel influencer based out of New Delhi. My blog which is turning two in 3 months has had quite a journey from being published in the best magazines of the country , to being invited by Swarovski in Paris to shoot for them . The cherry on the cake has to be the interview I did with Rihanna in New York for puma and Myntra.

Q4: Every website has a story behind it. What was yours? What was the motivation behind starting this Blog?
A4: My biggest motivation was my childhood love and passion for fashion and travel. They say what you are passionate about is your calling and fashion and travel are hands down my true loves. I started my website with the intention of bringing my take on the things I love to the audience but I had no idea i''d love it this much!

Q5: Do you ever get stuck when writing a blog? What do you do then?
A5: Yes ofcourse , thinking about new ideas to talk about can get a little difficult. In these times I try to get inspired by everything around me - people , music , nature.

Q6: If there was one thing that you feel makes your blog stand out, what would that be?
A6: Luckily for me , the opportunities and places that my blog has taken me are very unique to the Indian blogosphere. But I think that can be attributed to the uniqueness of my story telling . you've got to connect with the audience and not make things look super sponsored. You have to listen to what they wana hear and see and then tell that story in your own style. I also believe my blog stands out because I do not cater to one category of fashion. I experiment with different styles , I would like to believe I can carry off girly as well as sporty or casual or formal.

Q7: If you had to few advice to newbie bloggers, what would that be?
A7: Firstly , be yourself. Speak your mind and do your own thing because creating your own niche is important. Secondly do not get intimidated by the big numbers out there! In your own time , you will get the reach you are looking for. Lastly , do it for your passion, not for the money. The latter will easily follow if you are doing justice to your job.

Q8: Do you promote your blog? What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
A8: Blogging is all about marketing. I cross promote my blog through Instagram , snapchat, facebook, word of mouth etc. And I think they work great for me because I am catering to different types of audiences on these platforms and these days everyone is on Instagram and facebook and Snapchat!

Q9: And Influencer Marketing – what it holds for bloggers?
A9: I think that's key to the blogging business.

Q10: What do you find to be the most gratifying aspect of blogging?
A10: The most fulfilling aspect of blogging is the appreciation and love that your work gets you from the brands and your viewers.

Q11: Who has been your inspiration?
A11: I get inspired by a lot of things easily . Doesn't even have to be a person to be honest. But one person whose fashion sense I have been inspired by is Blake lively.

Q12: Engaging in influencer marketing is fruitful but most of the bloggers feel there are some characteristic problems while engaging with brands. How is your experience of engaging with brands and problems, if any?
A12: Luckily for me it has been quite smooth barring one or two cases , in both of which the miscommunication happened with the PR agency engaged between the brand and I. Brands are mostly flexible to work with , their end goal is creating buzz around the Campaign they have started , the message they want to deliver , the quality you have delivered it with and the sale conversion rate . So if a blogger is good at these aspects , the association is mostly smooth.

Q13: Please let us know 1 to 2 features of Blogmint that you simply love.
A13: It's a very organised brand-influencer platform. I haven't seen a platform that works in such a systematic , organised and transparent way. Another thing I absolutely love about blogmint is that the people are extremely considerate and friendly with both sides - the brand and the influencer

Why you should collaborate with another Influencer?

Things which are soothing to eye and heart is always desired by audience. Grabbing the heart of audience is not an easy task and creativity plays very significant role in it. Creativity is enhanced when we explore ourselves and outer world. So, we should take steps to achieve it.

When people work in team, they create commendable results. Take the example of Wright brothers. Like minded people should come together for better results. So, why don’t you also try a hand on it?

Co-creation with influence marketing can be of great benefit to your brand and can give amazing results due to several reasons. You can ask your audience to speak for you as it will increase integrity of your brand. Aim of any influencer should be to persuade people from whom they want to get persuaded.

When two people come together weakness of one is complimented by other creating the unique style. Uniqueness is always appreciated. People get unified with unique style which help in creating good image of product as well as influencer.

When little things are taken care off, work is completed with great efficiency. These little things should be minutely focused by different minds and co-creators. Also co-creation will help in reaching to customer to whom you have never been access to. Thus, increasing your market.

Why you should collaborate with another Influencer?

Have you ever thought of collaborating with another influencer? When you yourself have a good following then why you should go ahead and co-create content with another influencer? We have spoken to several influencers and have listed down reasons for co-creating content. When you co-create content with other influencers, large number of benefits are achieved. To name the few:

1. Creativity – There may be innovative ways to showcase your products you have not thought of yet. Allowing a fellow influencer to co-create content opens the doors to a fresh, new voice for your brand and new creative ideas.

2.Gaining Followers – Your co-created content piece will be shared on your as well as on his/her social channels. You are reaching out to fellow influencer’s audience and if they find your co-created content interesting and entertaining then they will start following you also. Reach audience you would never have access to and attract new, fresh eyes to your brand. Thus, increasing your follower base.

3. More Brand Collaborations– Different image of brand is created when two people work with unique style leading to brand recognition. Brands are always looking for creativity and this way you can drag their attention.

4. Improved Quality – Breathe more life into your work by working with another influencer from the same genre who can inspire with a variety of different voices. Co-creation bring newness and reduce boredom. It also makes environment dynamic and rejuvenating which is good for brand as well as influencer.

Think about this concept and try co-creating a content with another influencer.

INFLUENCER INTERVIEW: Vaishali Sudan Sharma

Q1: In which all influencer marketing campaigns have you participated on Blogmint?
  • Blogging
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
Q2: What is your primary category?
  • Health
  • Parenting
Q3: For the people who don’t know about you, Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
A3: A mother of a hyperactive preschooler, I am a Gurgaon-based PR consultant and a blogger. The Champa Tree was conceived in May, 2014 around the same time when my son was born. My blog is all about sharing first-hand experience on parenting and motherhood. From useful baby care tips to talking about a woman's emotional well being, the idea is to be able to help expecting and new parents establish a better understanding about the most important job-in-hand.

Q4: Every website has a story behind it. What was yours? What was the motivation behind starting this Blog?
A4: Yes! And when I do get stuck, I look for inspiration from my day-to-day life. My son is an absolute inspiration.

Q5: Do you ever get stuck when writing a blog? What do you do then?
A5: My blog sticks to one theme- which is parenting and motherhood. Instead of talking about 100 other things, I chose to write about a topic which even though has a limited audience but the experience is gratifying. What makes it stand out is the content, which is a blend of rationale and emotional thinking. Whether it's travel tips or recipes, the blogs are written keeping kids/mothers/parents in mind.

Q6: If there was one thing that you feel makes your blog stand out, what would that be?
A6: My blog sticks to one theme- which is parenting and motherhood. Instead of talking about 100 other things, I chose to write about a topic which even though has a limited audience but the experience is gratifying. What makes it stand out is the content, which is a blend of rationale and emotional thinking. Whether it's travel tips or recipes, the blogs are written kids/mothers/parents in mind.

Q7: If you had to few advice to newbie bloggers, what would that be?
A7: Follow your heart. The issue with most beginners is to decide whether to write on popular topics or share their own thoughts about things they are most passionate about. My only advice is to just write what you feel. Success follows by default. You need to have patience and most be passionate about blogging.

Q8: Do you promote your blog? What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
A8: Yes! Inbound marketing, social media platforms. To be able to garner more visibility and reach out to the right audience at the right time with the key messaging.

Q9: And Influencer Marketing – what it holds for bloggers?
A9: Influencer marketing has a huge potential. After all it is imperative to reach out to the key leaders to be able to drive a brands message to the larger market. Rather than marketing directly to a large group of consumers, the need of the hour is to inspire influencers (operating within the related category) to get out the word for you. Bloggers play a super important role. Most audience out there today has been checking internet. In fact, 50% of the information being gathered is through these online platforms. Blogs at times are treated as the one-stop-shop for most of the knowledge. For instance, my husband checks a particular blog before making a consumer-tech related purchase.

Q10: What do you find to be the most gratifying aspect of blogging?
A10: To be able to express. To know that there are people out there who are reading it and when you have been able to touch their lives in a special way, now that makes blogging a gratifying experience!

Q11: Who has been your inspiration?
A11: My son. He has been my true inspiration. The time we spend together gives me all the ideas for the content presented on the blog. From basic parenting issues to the emotions felt by a mother and what does she do to cope with all the motherhood fatigue, you can find it all on The Champa Tree.

Q12: Engaging in influencer marketing is fruitful but most of the bloggers feel there are some characteristic problems while engaging with brands. How is your experience of engaging with brands and problems, if any?
A12: Every brand has a proportion of consumers who do not feel entirely positive about using their products. So is the case with a blogger. At times, I don't feel great about sharing my genuine feedback about a brand. A brand must understand this and take it in a positive way.

Q13: Please let us know 1 to 2 features of Blogmint that you simply love.
A13: The seamless integration with social media platforms and great assignments/ opportunities to work on good quality campaigns :)

Facebook Stories - How To Make Use Of It?

Last week Facebook released its new feature on appFacebook Stories and joined the “Stories” bandwagon.
Like Snapchat, Facebook stories has a direct messaging feature and an in-app camera filters as the networking giant aims to "let your camera do the talking".
What are Facebook Stories?
Facebook stories allows you to post images or 20-second long videos on your timeline, stories will disappear after 24 hours.
Like Snapchat you can add filters to the image and footage and make it more interesting when sharing your updates with your followers and this feature is app based only.
At the top of the Facebook app you will see a collection of circles, these are the stories created by your friends. You need to simply tap on the story and enjoy!
How do I create a Facebook Story?

Simply tap the camera icon in the top left corner of the screen, like you do on Instagram. Then a camera screen will come up, which you can put in selfie mode or camera mode. Simply snap away or record a short video. You will then see a white circle with an arrow in it which, when tapped, will take you to the 'share photo page'.
This is where you can choose to send it to a particular person or persons, add to your Facebook timeline, or add to 'your story'. Like Instagram and Snapchat you can add text, emojis, borders and filters to your Facebook stories.

Can I create Facebook Stories on Brand Pages?
No, Facebook stories are limited to user profiles only. You can create stories on your personal profile only.
How can I use this to influence my audience or how to monetize this?
You can use this feature to show quick updates like posting feeds from an event or creating buzz for a new product or for a new post on your blog or your latest buy.
You can monetize your stories basis the number of views received on them. As they stay for just 24 hours so selling stories as a standalone is not a good idea. You can club this with the Facebook post and show your cumulative influence to the brand.

If you’ve spent any amount of time on Twitter, you know that there are a lot of conversations happening at any one time, and it can sometimes seem like a jumbled mess. But when we add a hashtag like #BlogmintCHAT to our tweets, then it becomes much easier for us to track and keep up with the conversation that’s happening!
