INFLUENCER INTERVIEW: Suman Prasad ( www.unkrate.com )

blogmint.com

Q1: In which all influencer marketing campaigns have you participated on Blogmint?
A1:
  • Blogging
  • Twitter
  • Facebook
Q2: What is your primary category?
A2:
  • Fashion
  • Travel
  • Lifestyle
  • Food
  • Technology

Q3: For the people who don’t know about you, Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
A3: An active Food & Lifestyle Blogger for over 4 years now. Also a guest contributor for India's leading English mainline daily The New Indian Express, Bangalore. Earlier, I have been a guest author with PioneerChef.com and TownTrendz Magazine.

Q4: Every website has a story behind it. What was yours? What was the motivation behind starting this Blog?
A4: The whole idea behind starting this platform was:
1) Break the stereotype around blogging, do something out of the box.
2) Create experience for the readers. Have been part of the blogging industry for a long time now and today there is a clutter, everyone is doing the something. Hence, this platform was created keeping in mind the requirements of brands, i.e. interviews, releases, features, Social Media Campaigns, Video Interviews, etc
We just did not wanted to give a blog post to our readers and brands, we wanted to give an experience along.

Q5: Do you ever get stuck when writing a blog? What do you do then?
A5: Yes, it happens. Writing is not an easy job. You need to think, think and think while your are writing. And sometime you do get stuck. All I do is, pause for a while, make a cup of green tea, hit some music and get going.

Q6: If there was one thing that you feel makes your blog stand out, what would that be?
A6: We create experiences through our range of services unlike others.

Q7: If you had to few advice to newbie bloggers, what would that be?
A7:  Content is the King: In this world of clutter, you can only arrive a winner if you have a quality content. Invest time on your blog, research well on the topic, be sure of what you are writing.

Q8: Do you promote your blog? What promotional techniques work best for you and why?
A8: Since the time I have started blogging, I have used a very common platform to promote my blog: Facebook, Twitter. Other than this, I have been fortunate that my readers and audience really liked my blog and helped spread the word. This is the most genuine promotion which can turn tables. On Twitter, it is very important that you are very active and participate in group chats to the topic of your interest.

Q9: And Influencer Marketing – what it holds for bloggers?
A9: I believe that Bloggers have a superpower - 'To Influence'. 65% of brands now run influencer campaigns and according to an infographic by The Shelf, 92% of consumers trust recommendations from other people—even if they don’t know them personally—over promotional content that comes directly from brands. And here is where Bloggers come in and play an important role in Influencer Marketing.

Q10: What do you find to be the most gratifying aspect of blogging?
A10: Serving people with quality content. Nothing can be more gratifying than this.

Q11: Who has been your inspiration?
A11: Definitely my friend and brother Prateek Thakker, who is also a blogger. He is the one who pushed me to blog and made me fall in love with it. He has been a wonderful guide in every aspect of my life.

Q12: Engaging in influencer marketing is fruitful but most of the bloggers feel there are some characteristic problems while engaging with brands. How is your experience of engaging with brands and problems, if any?
A12: I have been associated with many brands in the past and had a wonderful experience. I understand where the gap is between a brand and bloggers - expectation from each other. I have seen brands who have no idea what they want from a blogger, lacks clear expectations but just wants them on board which later results in conflict. Same goes with bloggers, have clear expectations and communicate well.

Q13: Please let us know 1 to 2 features of Blogmint that you simply love.
A13: 1) The way it seamlessly bridges brands and bloggers/influencers.
2) The Email support is very fast and effective.
3) The process of managing the work orders, article submission and approval is simple and efficient.

Live Video Sites To Watch For In 2017

If 2016 was all about Twitter, 2017 is all about LIVE Video and Instagram. LIVE streaming has become quite popular among millennial's, and it only seems to be growing in popularity. But the common denominator is still engagement. Every brand wants engagement and the same can be retweets, business inquiries, shares, likes or comments and engagement is one of the most crucial social media marketing metric.

So What Is Live Streaming?

blogmint.com

You all must have heard about live videos. You all love to watch events ‘live’ especially those of our favorite shows, teams and concerts from our celebrity entertainers. But when it’s difficult to attend a live event, we gather to watch the special moments in real-time on television or over the internet in Good Quality. The process of broadcasting real-time, live video footage or video feed to an audience accessing the video stream over the Internet is Live Streaming. The best part is that the viewing device can be a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, smart phone or digital screen at home or at the office. The broadcast can be just video, audio or both.

Why Live Streaming?
  • A high quality, multi-person video conversation can be held WITHOUT cost
  • It’s a new and easy way to reach out and talk to your clients and prospects.
  • It is NOT traditional webinar or video conferencing technology.
  • It provides you with the same level of engagement as a face-to-face conversation or a boardroom presentation.
Facebook Live

blogmint.com

We believe that Live video streaming is a fun, engaging way to connect with your followers and grow your audience. With the help of Facebook Live you can instantly stream live to your friends and followers and interact with viewers in real time.

Benefits:

1. Filters
This is a feature idea that Facebook says came from users. The filters let you do some quick editing while broadcasting. That might be fun for a live chat between friends but I doubt it will offer too much to business broadcasts.

2. Perfect Use Of Notifications
Facebook uses its notifications to tell people when someone they're following is broadcasting live. That's a powerful call that makes the most of that big audience.

3. Live Reactions
All the platforms let broadcasters see viewer comments in real time but Facebook's range of live reactions also provides a good idea of how people are feeling as they watch.

4. Real Metrics
Facebook is also currently unique in offering more advanced broadcasters metrics. After the broadcast, you can see how many people saw the video as well as the largest number of people watching at the same time. Facebook Live is where you'll be able to run content tests and check results.

5. Larger Audience
As the largest social media platform, Facebook brings the biggest potential audience. Your Facebook page is likely to have more followers than your Twitter or Instagram streams, giving you the biggest potential audience.
Start live streaming today with Facebook Live.

Twitter Live

blogmint.com

Joining in the league of LIVE videos, recently Twitter with the help of Periscope launched its live streaming feature.

Benefits:

1. Live Announcements
Twitter has also built a niche for itself as a platform for breaking news.

2. Comments and Reactions
Like Facebook, Twitter shows broadcasters comments as viewers make them.

3. Professional Audiences
As Twitter's connections are between people who'd like to know each other. That might make Twitter a more natural platform for niched professional content.

Despite its small size, Twitter can also be a powerful platform by adding periscope-live streaming feature. By combining the two platforms, Twitter can bring its audience both an established live video functionality and broadcasters already accustomed to using its service.

Instagram Live

blogmint.com

Last year, Instagram has received quite a few new features. If we look back, Instagram kicked-off the year with introducing a black-and-white design & unveiling a new logo. Back in August, Instagram launched ‘Instagram Stories’ which is one of its most-used features. The feature let users share their moments throughout their day in the form of a story. The company recently also announced the integration of Boomerang and @mentions to make the story on Instagram more engaging.

The good news is that along with videos, pictures and stories users can now post live videos on Instagram.
Instagram has started rolling out 'live stories' feature in India. However, as of now the feature is available to selected users in India only.

With the start of Instagram Live and usage of Twitter & FB Live which channel are you going to prefer?

Five Metrics to Measure the Success of Your Blog

You call yourself a blogger just because you have a blog or you are actually justifying the term “blogger”. Being a blogger you are supposed to update creative content on your blog, share blog post with your audience and interact with them on regular basis. Just having huge number of followers and with ‘0’ interaction doesn’t justify you as a blogger. Blogger is a person who holds the value of influencing their readers by writing their views/opinion on blog.
To connect with target audience brands are always looking for bloggers who can help them in establishing a connection with the audience thus gaining brand awareness, back links and quality visitors.
Just a writing a post of 400 words with a back link doesn’t justify your efforts as a blogger involved in a blogging campaign. Being a blogger you should always measure your work on monthly, weekly or even on daily basis. Your analytic numbers that will tell you whether you are doing a good job or a terrible job, numbers will show you what you should do to have better results.
And these numbers should be analysed looking through a filter of metrics. Metrics that will help you not only looking at some numbers but also determine where you want to get with your blogging goals.
We have listed down 5 metrics you should look after you published a blog post:
  • Visits
  • Engagements
  • Links
  • Social Media Shares
  • Conversions

1. Visits

After publishing a blog post you should look at how many visits this post has got. How much traffic you gained from that blog post. Always remember that your website also needs traffic to get known by others and you also need to integrate Google Analytics on your blog to see these numbers.
You can’t have a good content marketing strategy if you don’t invest in quality and you can’t get good traffic on your website, if you don’t invest in quantity.
So, visits on your blog post can be a metrics for brand to measure your worth.

2. Engagements (Likes, Shares, Comments etc)

The next metrics we recommend you to measure is “engagement”.
Here comes the human part of your content marketing. Because here you need to get not only personal but also to try to understand what intents your visitors have when they engage.
If people are commenting on your blog it means that you are doing a good job because you had their attention.

3. Links

As a content marketer you need to know the power of links. You should know which keyword needs to be hyperlinked and to which website you should be giving back link, this activity falls under SEO. You can participate on blogging and social communities and there you can share your blog post link. In return you will be getting some amount of traffic by generating a quality back link for your blog.
You need to have a proper balance between writing for Google and writing for humans. It’s better for write a quality portion or humans because they are the one who are adding value to your blog as an audience.

4. Social Media Shares

If you want to get more shares on social media you need to look at your followers today and take them into consideration. Who are they? Why they are following you? What type of content they engage more?
Work out a proper social media strategy for your blog. Write quality content and use catchy heading which can hold reader’s attention. Be a part of relevant community where you can post about your latest blog post.
Remember having more than 30,000 followers on Twitter or Instagram doesn’t make any sense till the time you have good number of likes, re-tweets or re-post/re-shares on your social post.
Brands loves to engage influencers who are producing engaging content on social media so along with blog post they would also like to see how many social shares you have received.

5. Conversions

Work in sync with the brand’s objective. Understand the campaign clearly that in return brand is expecting what from your blog post. Are they looking to gain brand awareness, engagement, traffic or leads?

Conclusion

These 5 blogging metrics you can use to measure your blogging goals and your success with your blog post. It’s easy to write a blog post, but it’s kind of difficult to measure with the right metrics and to see what success did you have with it.
